Dr. William Elmer McGraw, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away June 15, 2012. He was born November 5, 1943, in St. James, MO, the son of the late Elmer and Helen (Schuster) McGraw.
He received his Bachelor's Degree from Notre Dame, followed by attending Ohio State University where he received his Doctor of Medicine, and then completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War for two years.
Dr. McGraw retired in 2011 from Northwest Radiology. He loved travel, music, and reading. He was an avid football fan, and was fiercely loyal to Notre Dame and the Colts.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie (Szrama) McGraw; two daughters, Noel McGraw (husband Dan Boster), Indianapolis, Michelle (Andrew) Plasz, Highland Park, IL; son, Michael (Dawn) McGraw, Indianapolis; step-daughter, Michelle (Kyle) Freeman, Danville; grandchildren, Kate, Joshua, Allen, and Elliot. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob, and three sisters, Pat, Elizabeth, and Kathleen.
Funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Church of the Holy Cross, 125 North Oriental Street. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 East Broad Ripple Avenue.
