Ronald W. York, 71, of Spencer, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 17, 2012. He was born in Newport News, Virginia on March 12, 1941 to Marion W. and Cecelia (Zepnikowski) York. His family moved to Okinawa in 1951. There he was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He graduated from Kubasaki High School in 1959. He returned to the states and attended University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. He worked 30 years at RCA as a Senior Consumer Analyst and then at the Jackson Creek Kroger store for 11 years.
Mr. York is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda (Reeves) York; children, Michael (Alicia) York of Wheaton, Illinois and Wendy York of Spencer; brother, Jerome (Carol) York of Murphy, North Carolina and a granddaughter, Audra Elaine York.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas York.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Chambersville Cemetery with Pastor Allan Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the cemetery.
