Naomi Ruth Williamson, age 85, of Cicero, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Vincent Hospital on Monday, April 30, 2012. She was the youngest of six children born at home at Cicero, IN to Otto and Luta (Swinford) Drake.

She was a graduate of Jackson Central High School with the Class of 1945. Naomi spent her entire life living in and giving back to her community.
She had a passion for politics and was fortunate to have been elected and to have served 20 years as the Jackson Towhship Assessor. She was a member of the Cicero Christian Church, the Cicero American Legion Auxiliary, the Silver Notes Choral Club, and had spent over 60 years participating in the home economics clubs of Hamilton County with most of those years with the Aromeg Club.

She married Arley V. Williamson on May 8, 1948 and they celebrated 51 years of marriage. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was the mother of three children: Helen Hughes ( Corky) Rollison of Phoenix, AZ and James K. (Nancy) Williamson of Arcadia, IN. Grandchildren include Aaron Williamson, Andrew J. Williamson, David C. Williamson, and Adam D. Cooper. Great-grandchildren include Sloan and Skylar Haywood, Miles Cooper, Lilly Williamson and Evan Williamson and a daughter-in-law: Darlene Williamson.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son: William J. Williamson, a grandson: Michael S. Williamson, and a granddaughter: Carmen Cooper.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel with Pastor Kim Drake officiating. Burial will follow at the Cicero Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Aromeg Extension Homemakers Club.
