Mary Frances Martin, 92, of Bowling Green, Indiana, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Owen Valley Health Campus. She was born in Boone County on January 24, 1921 to Virgil and Mary (Steelsmith) Harlos. She graduated in 1939 from Jackson Township High School in Boone County. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker, loved to read, enjoyed raising chickens and watching the farm animals. She was a wonderful cook, always making extra for church and school socials. She was a member of the Patricksburg United Methodist Church, active in the Patricksburg PTA, and served as the Morgan Township Trustee for 20 years.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her sons, Daniel (Patricia) Martin of Aurora, Colorado and John Martin of Patricksburg; daughter, Tressa (Mark) Dyer of Clay City; brother, James Harlos of Advance; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emerald "EJ" Martin in 1975; son, Don Martin; daughter, Marvin "Marty" Myers; brothers, Glen, Charles, Marvin, Leon, and William Harlos and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastor Ralph Roach will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 am until service time on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
