Marilyn Jean Halleen Wicker, 83, passed away February 5, 2013. She was born March 22, 1929 in Madera, California to the late Grace (Ireland) and J. Wilfred Halleen.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She married Norvell E. Wicker, III, a Naval Aviator. She enjoyed reading, quilting, bridge club, sewing, knitting, and writing about her extensive travel adventures through the United States and Europe.
She is survived by children, Keela Wicker of Greenwood, Norvell (Sherry) Wicker IV of Greenwood and Kathleen (Pat) Reichmuth of Owasso, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, Amy Reichmuth, Amanda (Joe Bill) Rehder, Kirsten Wicker, Sarah (Scott) Nangle, Ryan Wicker, and Daniel Wicker; 3 great grandsons, Hunter & Tucker Rehder, and Lucas J. Nangle; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Thompson of Decatur, Georgia. Marilyn was preceded by her husband, Norvell E. Wicker, III; daughter, Danna Kyle Wicker; brother, Bud Halleen and sister, Joyce Farley.
Marilyn was a member of Waves International, WACS, WAVES, and Women of the Seas Services Indiana. She was a team manager for 13 years of U.S. Trials de Nations Motorcycle Team and was also a member of League of Women Voters.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Greenwood Social Center, 550 Polk Street, Greenwood, IN 46143. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be sent to the Greenwood Social Center or the Wheeler Mission.
