Jackie Lee Hight, 86, Kokomo, passed away at 8:54 PM, November 20, 2012 at Saint Joseph Hospital. Jackie was born on November 15, 1926 to the late Francis, and Bertha May (Thurston) Hight in Kokomo, Indiana. On September 3, 1950 he married Beulah A. (Dillon) Hight. Mrs. Hight survives.
After High School, Jackie proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. After returning home from the war, Jackie began his working career at Haynes International where he worked for thirty six years. He enjoyed reading and collecting books, watching baseball, basketball and football, especially the Chicago Cubs, Indiana University, and the Indianapolis Colts. He was a member of Fairfield Christian Church, where he taught Sunday School. He also taught Bible study at Jefferson Manor. He attended Summitt Theological Seminary, in Peru.
Jackie is survived by; his wife Beulah, his six children; Jackie G. (Pam) Hight, Timothy P. Hight, Gary A.(Linda) Hight, Vickie L. (Bill) Cambell, Peggy L. (Dave) Mahoney, Jenny L. (Kevin) Stoner, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and six step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Fairfield Christian Church 1476 East, 400 South Oakford Indiana with Lynn Coleman, and Keith Cramer officiating. Burial will follow at Alright Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army, and the local VFW Military Rites Team. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the church.
