Eugene G. "Gene" Brown, age 79 of Franklin, IN, passed away at 6:47 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette. Born July 7, 1932 in Franklin, he was the son of the late Paul and Katherine Leingang Brown.
Gene served in the Navy for 20 years and enjoyed his time in the Pacific. He was honorably discharged.
His marriage was to Martha "Marty" Burguss and she preceded him in death. Gene worked for Chrysler Automotive for 17 years and retired in 1988. He also worked as a security guard. He was a member of the UAW Local 1226 and American Legion Post 253. He enjoyed reading and gardening.

Surviving are two sisters, Ruth Lawson of Naples, FL and Juanita Yeats of Gibson City, IL, and 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Lawson and Mary Ann Hill, as well 4 nieces and nephews.

Graveside inurnment will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN with his nephew Pastor Mike Lawson officiating.
