David Wesley Huffman, 54, of Orleans, died Thursday, May 17, at the IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
David was born February 19, 1958 in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of Fred and Jane Chastain Huffman.
He graduated from Wabash High School with the class of 1976, attented Indiana State University and graduated from Vincennes University in 1980. He was a draftsman, a member of the Orleans United Methodist Church. David coached baseball and basketball for almost twenty years at Orleans, West Washington, Austin and Paoli High Schools. He was also an umpire for girls' softball and volleyball.
He married Carolyn Ann Price on July 21, 1984 and she survives.
Along with his wife, Carolyn Ann Huffman, he is survived by his father and step-mother Fred and Carolyn Huffman of Orleans, his son, Ryne Huffman of Orleans and his daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Bradley Johnson of Indianapolis. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Sally and Keith Schepers of Jasper and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Huffman.
The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Orleans United Methodist Church with Pastor Jacqueline Munson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Orleans.
Friends are invited to visitation at the Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans on Sunday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m.
