KNOWLES, Clyde Wilbur – 85

Clyde Wilbur Knowles, age 85 of Lafayette, passed away at his residence at 5:12 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012. Born October 23, 1926 in Warren County, IN, he was the son of the late James Lewis and Olive Belle (Biggs) Knowles. He was an Army Veteran.
He married Deloris Knowles on November 3, 1951 and she preceded him in death. Clyde was a retired sheet metal worker for Sheet Metal Workers Local #20. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, playing euchre, horseshoes, gardening, playing guitar by ear, mushroom hunting, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his two children, Connie Collins Leak (husband Terry) of Avon, IN and a son, Jeff Collins (wife, Marilyn) of Indianapolis, IN, and two brothers, Charley Knowles of Lafayette and Grant Knowles of Mellott, IN. Eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation 5-8 p.m. Friday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home
Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
