I HAVE SOME VERY FOND MEMORIES OF SATURDAY NIGHTS AT MY PARENTS WHEN CLYDE AND DELORES WOULD BE THERE PLAYING COUNTRY MUSIC WITH MY PARENTS AND SOMETIMES OTHERS....HE ALWAYS HAD A SMILE AND SOME TEASING FOR US GIRLS....:) WHAT A SWEET MAN WHO LOVED HIS FAMILY!! GO IN PEACE KIND MAN AND MUCH LOVE AND HUGS TO HIS FAMILY WHO WILL FOREVER MISS HIM.

I guess the first thing I need to ask all of you is...."How's every little thing?" And have any of you seen the squirrel that bit my Grandpa?

Our Grandpa, Our Uncle, Our Brother, Our Friend, Our Daddy is a giant of a man. He served others. He loved others. He didn't know a stranger. My Grandpa Clyde is a great card player. He had many rules as

Our Grandpa, Our Uncle, Our Brother, Our Friend, Our Daddy is a giant of a man. He served others. He loved others. He didn't know a stranger. My Grandpa Clyde is a great card player. He had many rules as you played. Never trump a partner's ace. Always count on your partner for a trick, and mostly never send a boy to do a man’s job. Our God must have had this in mind when he blessed this world 85 years ago with the one and only Clyde Wilbur Knowles. His life wasn't easy even as a boy. His brothers can tell you about that. Even growing up in that difficult time he never lost the bright eyes and wonderment of a child. He laughed a lot, and he made sure others did, too. Grandpa grew up and lived a life sacrificing so others could have opportunities. From caring for his brothers and sisters to serving our country in Korea, my Grandpa Clyde never shrunk from the job. Grandpa even made sure that Todd and I got the BB guns we wanted against the chorus of “but they shoot their eyes out!” He met a beautiful woman named Deloris, my Grandma. Grandma already had two young children named Connie and Jeff. He never became their step dad. He became their Daddy! He would later become my Grandpa, too. We have all been sad these past few days and rightfully so. But today is not a day to be sad. Today is a day to celebrate and pass on the greatness of Grandpa's life. We need to make sure that we continue his legacy. We can cry some more tomorrow. But today we celebrate!

When my Grandpa didn't have a dime to his name he somehow found 3 of them to send us kids to Jocey's general store to shop like rich kids for half penny candy. He always stopped what he was doing, whether it be feeding the chickens or fixing something, to make sure that we knew that he was interested and loved us. I was the luckiest one of all. I was the one that was blessed with his name. My name is anthony Clyde leak. I learned so much about life from my Grandpa. I was about ten or eleven when I remember telling him that I loved him so much that when I got old and had a boy I was going to name him Clyde. Michael Anthony Clyde Leak is here today. There were 3 generations of Clyde's on many fun occasions. Grandpa taught me to fix things when they broke. Life wasn't disposable to him. He taught me to be kind to animals and to love them always. He showed me the way a real man treats his wife after she's had a stroke. He drove there twice a day everyday for the remainder of Grandma's life. He made sure that she had dignity and he taught the folks at the nursing home how to treat those in need. In a quiet time that he and I shared not long ago--alone, he told me that he was frustrated that he couldn't take care of himself anymore and needed help. He had spent his entire life taking care of others and now this. He resolved himself with this and had even told our boys that he wanted to come down for a baseball game but he'd need a ride for his dirty butt since he couldn't drive anymore. His independence I think was too much for him to give up. Grandpa told me one time, "Now you might think I'm crazy like the doctors' do, but your Grandma has started coming back around. And there are kids coming, too." I told Grandpa not to worry because I had always thought he was a little crazy. I told Grandpa this time he wasn't crazy. He was just lonely for the wife that he loved and for the simpler time when he was young and always had kids around whether they were his kids or his many nieces and nephews. He loves children. Our Grandpa, Our Uncle, Our Brother, Our Friend, Our Daddy lived life laughing, dancing, singing, and playing a little music. He loved having family together. He's loving having you all here today. I'm thankful today that he's finally dancing with Grandma again.

I have several memories of you, but the one that made my heart smile, was when Aunt Deloris was in the hospital and so sick.
