Boyd was born on August 2, 1925 and passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.
Boyd was a resident of Bloomington, Indiana at the time of his passing.
He was a retired Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve and as a high school administrator. He was very dedicated to the U.S. Navy and to education.
He is survived by his wife Mary.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday at Valhalla Memory Gardens with entombment to follow afterwards. Military rites will be performed at the service. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Day Funeral Home in Bloomington where a Masonic memorial service will be performed.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Shriner's Hospital or to the Bloomington First Christian Church.
