Alberta M. "Jean" (Vail) Hardison, 84, of Lafayette, Indiana died June 14, 2012. She was born in Chicago on July 21, 1927 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Charles Vail. She married James C. Hardison, August 14, 1948 in Indianapolis, and he survives. Jean was a homemaker and member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing and was an avid card player. She loved Christmas, and enjoyed bowling for over 30 years. Jean was a member of the VFW post 1154, 40 & 8 LaFemme Voiture #364, American Legion post 11, Navy Club Ship 12, Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge.
Surviving with her husband are a daughter Lucinda "Cindy" Hardison of Brookston, a son, James C. (wife Sukkie) of Lafayette. Granddaughters: Lucretia (husband Scott) Jensen of Brookston, Tanya Hardison of Texas, Sydney Hardison of North Carolina, Miranda (husband Rick) Riley of Indianapolis, Brette Hardison of Carmel, Kim (husband Mark) Fabend of Lafayette, N.Y., and Shawn Gollinger of Buffalo, N.Y., great grandchildren: Austin, Brynleigh, Tyler, Katie, Patrick and Donna .
She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a great granddaughter Bayleigh Jensen.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, with services there at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, with Reverend Father Dan Gartland officiating.
