Carter Lynn James, age 23, of Fishers, IN died April 17, 2017.

She was born September 14, 1993 at Tipton, IN to Bradley Dean James and Staci Lynn (Leatherwood) Koehler.

She was a graduate of Horizon Christian School at Indianapolis, IN with the Class of 2011. She had worked as a food server for various local restaurants.

Carter is remembered as an extremely loving and caring person. She would light up a room and was a joy to those around her, leaving a lasting impression with the people she met. She was strong and athletic which complimented her soft, loving heart and personality.

Carter loved her family dearly and took great care and joy in her younger brothers and other children. She was a passionate advocate towards animals and always compassionate. Other interests included biking, basketball, softball, swimming and movies.

Carter is survived by her large, loving family that will miss her terribly. Since she was a follower of Christ, we, her family, find comfort in knowing that she is with Him, and we will see her once again.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson Street, Cicero, IN, 46034 with Rev. Phil Bowers officiating. Burial will follow at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Arcadia, IN. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, 1721 Pleasant Street, Suite B., Noblesville, IN 46060-3621. You may send condolences at www.hartleyfuneralhomes.com.
