My precious Cheri...it is so hard for me to think that you have been gone for 4 years now. I pray for you and your mom all the time and pray that the two of you are together. I will always love you dearly and still miss you deeply. I know that God is taking care of you and you are happier now. God Bless You and Keep Your Soul Always!!! Love you forever, Aunt Shirley.

Cheri, I thought of you just a couple of weeks ago. Though we have not spoken in years, I have always had fond memories of our friendship through high-school and into our twenties; we shared so much laughter and companionship. My heart is sad today to hear this news and I will always think of you surrounded by light and Love. You were a bright spot in my life and in this world.

Love, Beth

I only knew Cheri a short time but she made a big impact on me. She was incredibly kind and had a wisdom about her that was very unique. She helped and touched so many people, I hope that she knows how much she was loved by all. I miss you so much Cheri and think of you daily.

Memories of my friend Cheri......
Kind
Smart
wicked sense of humor!!
professional
private person
animal lover

One of the thing that keeps coming to mind was that Cheri despite her petite size ate with gusto!! Cheri and I used to go out for breakfast nearly every week-end. When Cheri was hungry by gosh get outta the way!! That little tiny woman needed food! It's funny cuz we'd be running around going to thrift shops or garage sales, but when Cheri got hungry that was it!! We'd go get food and like I said she ate with gusto!! She enjoyed good food...she always saved a little bit to take home to Karma.

Cheri Smolen I miss you and I love you ....RIP....I know you know I'm still talking to you even tho your not here....thanks for listening my friend......

Cheri struggled constantly with adversity that was largely related to her condition. But when she was up, she was really up! She had contacted me through an online dating site, probably because I had a picture of me playing bass in a band. She went to many of our shows and took lots of great photos. We loved each other, but something always seemed to get in the way and we had many disagreements. But she told me I would always be part of her spiritual family. God bless you Cheri.

Cheri was the office manager at my apartment complex at NCState University. And though my interactions with her were brief, they were numerous enough for me to see and value the person she was. Her kind spirit and dedication to her job were evident. And I am richer having met her and for that I submit my thanks. May her soul shine bright forever.

Cherie was very strong, she struggled with a lot. I'm glad she is now at peace, but wish there was more help for people who have to battle depression. Although we were good friends for a short time, we had some great times together, laughing, sitting on her back porch w/ her dog, Karma, enjoying the nice view in Wake Forest, our walks, hikes, and enjoying the serenity of kayaks on a lake while we shared stories.
We discussed spirituality, and started attending the same church together. I recently noticed that she'd joined an environmental and photography group that I was a member of, too. May peace be with you, Cherie, your relatives and friends.

Candle

You'll be missed Cheri! Such a beautiful lady! An angel on earth and now an angel in heaven!

Cheri was my precious niece that I loved dearly. I remember her as a little girl with beautiful blond hair and pretty blue eyes just like her mothers. We shared a common illness called depression that has the ability to rob a person of their joy in life. Cheri was an intelligent, beautiful, woman who loved animals and sought spiritual happiness through her studies and church. My prayer is that Cheri is at peace and in the loving arms of her mother and grandmothers. I know that she is with God and his angels.
