We had dinner at the Church Valentine Dinner with Don and Lorraine a few weeks ago. They talked about being married for 60 plus years, how they met, the war, kids, grandkids. I'd been going to that church for 5 years and never spoke to them before. What a blessing to have had a chance to break bread with such a great pair. He will be missed by many, but no doubt by Lorraine the most. Our hearts go out

Don was a wonderful friend and neighbor and we will miss him. He was always full of fun and ready for a good time. Whether we were making plans for a trip to Hilton Head or just stopping for coffee after the Civic, Don was always more than ready to join in with an interesting story or a laugh. We will miss his friendship, his sense of humor and his love of life.
Our prayers are with Lorraine and their family throughout this difficult time.
With love and deepest sympathy, Deanna and Bob Hosler

Lorraine and Family,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. You and Don were one of the first couples I met at Advent. I remember you both making suggestions for my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner shortly thereafter when I found out you were from Lombard and the wedding would be in Wheaton. It was always so good to be welcomed by you and Don's smiles at church. Will see you soon at church and look forward to the day we all will meet up with Don again.

What a gentleman! We have many wonderful memories of Don - at Hilton Head, Civic, pinochle, and other great and fun times that we spent with Don and Lorraine. He loved to share a good story at a dinner, in the driveway, or wherever. He had a fabulous sense of humor and always made us laugh.

Dear Lorraine and family,
We send our love and sympathy to all of you. What a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather Don was. He will be missed by those of us who worshiped with
him at Advent Lutheran, too. One of our favorite memories was at several of the Valentine dinners we had the honor of being at the same table with Don, and with you, Lorraine. We loved listening to all the stories, especially of his time in the Navy after WWII, when he and his crew were busy sweeping up all the mines left from the war. And this last Valentine dinner, he told how he met you, Lorraine, and it was the sweetest story about how he walked you home from the drug store....to keep you safe from those who loitered around town in the evenings...He will be waiting for us all in heaven....and when we get there we can hear more wonderful stories...the kind that only Don could tell with his sweet sense of humor. All our love,
