William Harold Dougherty, passed away on February 28, 2012, at Community Hospital South. He was a resident of Indianapolis.
He was born Aprl 4, 1924, in Rocklane, Indiana. His father was John A. (Bert) Dougherty and his mother was Pearl (Taylor) Dougherty. Survivors include a son, Gerald Wayne Dougherty; a daughter, Sandra White; a brother, Dale Dougherty; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, ; and two sisters, .
He was a member of Southport Masonic Lodge #270 and the American Legion.
He was a veteran of the U.S Army Air Corp., having served in W.W.II.
A service will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St, Greenwood. Friends may call from 12:30-2:30 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rocklane Cemetery.
